May already! well what have we done lately...
Well April came and went in a blur....May came up so quick and has nearly finished!
In April, we basically consentrated on trying to get the stables finished...every weekend except for the 21st when we went to a party at Edendale at our friend Lucy and Matts, it was a themed party...dress to depict your country of originThis is Lewis, the baby dragon (he is half welsh) this is Lucy the dashing lady dragon host...she was busy getting all the food prepared, while the men.....well 2 dressed up, Rob as a Squaddie from the UK Army, and Matt, well hes a Scottish descendant, so he was going to wear a kilt, but just got as far as finding the head gear! LOL....
Of course since I took the pics there arnt any of me - but I had a bowler hat, black velvet jacket and Jodphurs, I dressed as a hunts woman :-)This is is Fionas little girl, who loved her BIG UK Flag hat... she was dressed as a princess to start with.
On Anzac day we went up to Fiona's, a friend of Lucy's and now mine (ooh I have 2 friends!) and we had wine and girly chatted while the kids played, and the Men (including Jason) went Clay Pigeon shooting! it was raining so they were soaked and ready for a hot drink and cake!
Rob and Jason did real well and even beat a cops score!
This is a picture of the roof going on
this is a view of the yard - AFTER I spent all Easter break weeding it (4 days!)
Now its the middle of May - I don't know where the time went, but my laptop got a case of sickness and Rob had to reload a few programs! I have bought some material and started to make some curtains for the lounge area...
It was a bit wild and windy for a few days - but theres always a cloud after a silver lining.....Oh and fantastic sunrises!.....and there were lots of trees and branches blown down, so the arborists have been busy, and I got a trailer full of free wood! YAY, all I need to do is wait for it to dry out? I wonder how long that takes?
When the wind and rain went its merry way towards the north Island, we have had a good spell of calm sunny weather, so we got out at the weekends and carried on with the stables....Here is a shot of Jasmine and Jasper trying them out, Jasper didn't like being in the one with the side fully paneled so we left the top open for him, and I think he liked it better...
At the beginning of may, I had some extra help in the office, when one of the gardeners found a lost kitten...It was so small as you can see.
it was taken home at the end of the day and is now the happy owner of a Rottweiler, who is as daft as a brush and lets the kitten run rough shod over it! (Cats Rule), and talking of cats, a lady emailed a request at work (apparently I was the only one to take one out of 300 employees!) for homes for some rescued kittens -15 in all....so we took one in - after some pleading to Rob from Me and Jason!Meet Smokey...who is 23 weeks old...this was his first time outside
Last weekend we went for a walk before sunset, as Jason is getting fit for his Army application, so we all went on one of the Bluff Hill walks, (he'll kill me for posting this probably)
This is the view at the top of the Bluff Hill looking towards our home which is on the horizon in the middle, the Oreti River is in the very top of the Horizon.
Well thats all for now folks....hope you like reading the Catch up, and why don't you add a comment.....
